It was funded in 1982 with the passage of House Bill 525, which became KRS 95A. The Fire Commission is a 19-member commission appointed by the Governor. Our Mission MISSION OF FIRE COMMISSION: The mission of the Fire Commission is to strengthen, upgrade and improve the fire service for the citizens and industry of the Commonwealth through standardized, education, training, communication, and distribution of funds.
